Call for Bursaries

The Bursary call is closed.
The bursary programme aims to contribute to building evaluation capacity in developing countries. The selection gives priority to applicants who are active in the evaluation communities in their home countries. In turn, the presence of evaluators from all over the world enriches the conference experience for all participants, as it contributes to a diversity of perspectives, including on the realities of undertaking evaluations in developing countries.
Bursary award holders will have their travel, accommodation and conference access covered by the award.
Eligible candidates are:
1_
A citizen from a developing country (in receipt of overseas development assistance) and live and work in a developing country for most of the time (*Applicable for citizens of countries with low-income, lower-middle income or upper-middle income economies according to the classification of GDP per capita of the World Bank.
2_
Involved in evaluation in their home country (*Proof of this needs to be provided in the application form). This may include non-professional evaluators, such as beneficiaries.
3_
Submitting an abstract for a paper, poster or presentation as part of a group session at the conference and also the Bursary application on ConfTool Pro.
Applications will go through a strict review process during which additional information may be asked from the applicants.
Applicants and eventual beneficiaries agree to participate in specific events organised in relation to the bursary programme during or outside the conference.
Please note the EES bursary support can only be received once by each individual: individuals who received bursary support for previous in-person conferences are not eligible.
There is little time: please submit your application no later than 15th March 2024 DEADLINE EXTENDED 15th April 2024. To apply, you will need to submit an abstract and also the bursary application via ConfTool Pro, which can be accessed here: https://www.conftool.pro/ees2024 (registration on Conftool is free of charge but required for first time users prior to abstract submission).
In addition to your abstract, you will need to submit the following as attachments to your application on ConfTool Pro:

- Bursary application form
- Justification of being involved in evaluation in your home country
- A writing sample
- Please make sure to indicate in your abstract or accompanying documentation that you are a bursary applicant
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Note: if you have already submitted an abstract under the main call, please submit additionally the application under the Call for Bursaries.
Abstracts will undergo a peer review process. Notification of Bursary Awards will be issued in May 2024.
